Rototuna is a flagship store implementing the latest thinking in supermarket design and customer experience. An authentic pallet of concrete, steel and timber highlighted by atmospheric spotlighting contribute to the moody ambience of the contemporary marketplace. Strong signage and graphic elements suspended within architectural gantries provide another layer of detail to the store linking the departments with a common design language.
Technological innovations include the introduction of “Kai” the autonomous stock scanning robot who ensures the shelves are always full. In the integrated pharmacy, robotic assistance ensures tablets are dispensed accurately and efficiently reducing customer wait times.
Expanding on the online/pick up initiatives, WMZA have worked with Countdown to provide New Zealand’s first contactless covered drive through solution allowing customers to remain in their vehicles whilst staff load their orders, under the shelter of a lightweight canopy.
Behind the scenes employees enjoy engaging, comfortable facilities to relax, refresh and socialise.
