The purpose built-home for Tauranga’s EmployNZ training school and Avonmore Tertiary Institute is notable for its bold and welcoming street presence. The two businesses occupy the upper two floors of the building, with two retail tenancies and a covered carpark housed on the ground floor.
The detailed north and east façades feature a backlit picture frame structure integrated into the curtain walling system. Coupled with the illuminated building signage, the street frontage is even more striking at night.
Polished stainless steel bracing elements form a strong sculptural element that highlight and define the entrance beneath the glazed canopy. This serves to make the entrance architecture both prominent and legible.
Accent materials, ply fretwork and abstract graphics decorate the interiors of the training suites, contributing to a stimulating but functional learning environment.
