WMZA were the base-build Architects for New Zealand’s first big Costco warehouse. We worked closely with Sydney based Architects GSA Global through the difficult pandemic period, to deliver the project on what is a challenging constrained site. The building in Westgate Auckland comprises of nearly 15,000 sqm of ground floor retail and two levels of parking overhead for over 800 cars. Costco’s product offering includes food, consumables and a large range of household goods – as well as a Tyre Sales workshop, an Optician, a Chemist and a Hearing Centre. A separate unmanned Fuel Station is also included on a site close by.
