WMZ Interior were commissioned by DTR to interpret their brand strategy into a 3D store design, then roll it out nationwide.
Design direction and a familiar material palette were established to create a bright, warm, homely environment where the targeted customer base would feel comfortable in a non-threatening environment and could visualise the product offering in their own homes.
Weatherboard cladding and large areas of glass to the shopfronts provides a welcoming entrance and emulates a residential feel. The counter and a separate seated transaction zone for comfort and privacy are located to be visible through the shopfront activating the interior view from the street.
Economical strand board has been used on the floors in conjunction with patches of carpet tiles defining room settings and product offers.
DTR offers a unique range of services within the retail environment. The merchandising plan highlights key departments and creates a logical flow between product departments and customer services.
Twenty four stores have now been completed in the nationwide rollout with the upgraded fit outs seeing a significant increase in revenue for all the stores.
